Job Summary

  • Healthy Entrepreneurs Ghana is a young and innovative company in Ghana, that is currently in its start-up phase. We are looking for a Program Officer that will assist us in implementing our models and further develop the model. In practice, this means that you will play a critical role in recruiting, training and managing our entrepreneurs. You will also assist in developing new training materials and content, and engage in other activities that will further expand our business.  The job is a consultancy position for the first six months of the contract, after the consultancy period the contract will – depending on the performance – change to a fixed contract


Job Description

  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with the different District Health Offices
  • Identifying communities in which HE can implement its model
  • Locating and recruiting entrepreneurs
  • Organizing and chairing community entrances / meetings
  • Supporting the development of training materials and technical manuals in collaboration with HE HQ
  • Setting up the initial trainings and all practicalities around it in accordance with the annual training planning
  • Provide trainings to our entrepreneurs
  • Coordinating the monthly / quarterly meetings with (district) entrepreneurs
  • Keep track of and control performance of all entrepreneurs, in collaboration with the Country Coordinator
  • Being the first point of contact for the entrepreneurs in your dedicated regions
  • Submitting a monthly activity report including the progress of the entrepreneurial activities and making appropriate recommendations
  • To manage and register cash flows and flows of goods to or from entrepreneurs in partnership in conjunction with suppliers under the guidance and supervision of the Country Coordinator
  • Conduct ad hoc activities that are related to the implementation when needed
  • Management of partners on project level


Qualification and Requirements

  • Have a Higher National Diploma (HND) or a 1st degree in social sciences
  • Have experience in community work
  • Have team spirit
  • Must demonstrate considerable autonomy
  • Must be flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and evening or weekend shifts
  • Highly driven to contribute to social impact
  • Is able to work with Word and Excel
  • Have a good command of the Twi and Sefwi language
  • Candidate shall have a background in Health


Place of Assignment

  • Main place of work will be in and around Wasa Akropong. The Program Officer agrees to live in Wasa Akropong and to travel within the districts of the project. Travels upcountry to the implementation areas are around 25% of the time depending on the related activities. Transport is public transport
