Job Title: Deputy Director


Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra


Job Summary

  • The successful candidate will also act as a senior ambassador for the organisation, supporting colleages and sharing line-management duties

The purpose of the Deputy Director role is to assist the Director to develop, implement and maintain integrated communication and consumer protection structures for the authority. The aim of is to:

  • Efficiently and effectively address and manage the authority’s relationship with its diverse stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner
  • Apply shrewd judgement and initiative to shape and influence opinions
  • Ensure the protection of consumers within a specific industry


Job Description

To work with the Director to direct and manage external and internal company communications, address, mediate and resolve consumer operator matters in the following Key Result Areas:

  • Consumer Affairs
  • External/Public Relations
  • Stakeholder Relationship
  • Management of the Division
  • Other Management Responsibilities


Qualification and Requirement

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies, Social Sciences or related disciplines, a post graduate qualification in Communications Studies, Consumers sciences or related disciplines
  • Membership and active participation of relevant professional body will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in communication and public relations in different settings
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a middle to senior outlook
  • Experience dealing with multi-stakeholders in information communications and technology space is most preferred
  • Expertise in managing digital communications
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations relative to consumer protection and to interpret and implement policies
  • Expertise in mass and consumer research and statistics
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex and difficult problems of organisation and management to present current, concise and up-to-date information



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skils, with proven ability in facilitating stakeholder interactions using different methods
  • Creative thinking
  • Attention-to-detail and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven relationship building ability, abl to foster trust
  • Ability to present complex information to different audiences in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated executive presence – able to develop rapport at all levels of interaction
