Job Title: Research Assistant


Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra


Job Description

  • Develop research work plans according to project needs of the Association
  • Assist in identifying potential grantors and build strong relationships with them
  • Assist in the development of proposals and assist in proposals completion and submission processes
  • Perform day-to-day supervision of research staff for assigned projects and lead all proposal writing processes for the organization. Act as primary contact for research team for any questions and concerns. (R)
  • Collect, collate and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external sources
  • Assist in the presentation of research findings as written publications and web-based resources
  • Respond to data queries from external audiences and to queries and questions internally (MMDA’s, Members, Citizenry, Daily News Papers etc)
  • Monitor relevant policy debates and provide briefs on relevant topical issues
  • Work with members to develop protocols, systems to collect, collate and analyse data in a coherent and participatory manner
  • Promote a learning culture within the organisation that is inclusive, creative and forward thinking
  • Liaise with stakeholders (local government, MMD's Members and staff to support in-country policy and advocacy work
  • Assist in preparation of advocacy papers for different audiences capturing key research findings
  • Consult and liaise with key stakeholders within the policy, and communications teams to develop clear and evidence based messages
  • Collaborate with the Communication and PR on the design and editing of advocacy/discussion papers
  • Assist in the design and implementation of external dissemination strategy for papers
  • To deliver excellent materials for events, stakeholders and external audiences
  • Attend external meetings and advocate for change in meetings with policy makers, NGOs, and other agencies
  • Any other additional responsibilities/assignment by the Executive Secretary


Qualification and Requirements

  • A minimum of a Masters degree is required
  • At least 5 years work experience
