Job Title: Financial Analyst

 

Job Location: Accra, Greater Accra

 

Job Description

  • Provides analysis and recommendations to businesses and individuals to help them with their investment decisions
  • Appraises issuer applications for seed, start-up, development or expansion capital
  • Prepares business plans for corporate investment funds, such as private equity, venture capital, real estate and infrastructure funds
  • Prepares reports and appraisals related to mergers, demergers, acquisitions, takeovers of public companies, including public-to-private deals or the sale of private companies
  • Prepares reports and appraisals related to buy-out, buy-in or similar activities of companies, divisions or subsidiaries - typically backed by private equity
  • Prepares reports and appraisals to assist companies to issue equity, including the floatation of companies’ shares on a recognised stock exchange in order to raise capital for development and/or to restructure ownership
  • Assists the Head of Department in drafting all relevant corporate investment papers
  • Prepares prospectuses and information memoranda for management’s consideration
  • Meets with other stakeholders to gain a better insight into their firm’s prospects and to determine their managerial effectiveness
  • Studies and reports on events in various industries, assessing current trends in business practices, products, and industry competition
  • Keeps abreast of new regulations and policies that may affect the industry, as well as monitors the economy to determine its effect on earnings
  • Writes reports and makes presentations, usually making recommendations to buy or sell a particular investment or security
  • Reads about new and existing products and monitors the sales, prices, and products of competitors
  • Ensures that the forms and written materials necessary for compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission regulations are accurate and complete
  • Analysing current and past financial data and performance
  • Preparing reports and projections based on this analysis
  • Evaluating current capital expenditures and depreciation of applications
  • Exploring investment opportunities
  • Establishing and evaluating profit plans
  • Identifying trends in financial performance of issuers and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Review financial information and forecasts/projections
  • Providing reports using financial models and forecasting techniques
  • Consolidating and analysing financial data, taking into account company’s goals and financial standing
  • Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
  • Assembling and summarizing data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks

 

Qualification and Requirements

  • A minimum of a Degree/ Masters in Accounting or Professional certificate eg ACCA/CA
  • At least 3-5 years work experience
